]]> By: christine http://unfinishedlivesblog.com/the-victims/#comment-4316 Mon, 20 Feb 2012 15:35:03 +0000 http://unfinishedlives.wordpress.com/the-victims/#comment-4316 this has to do with being human beings. everyone has their prejudices. we are taught them and they are not easy to unlearn. we are habitual. we have a lot of bad habits. we teach our children to protect our hearts. our hearts don’t need protecting. our hearts need to lead the way. demonstrating love is what we should do as human beings. we can only start with ourselves. if we just do what we can…you…me…and spread as much love as we can. it’s the best we can do. love is the only truth there is and it’s the only way to heal anything. love now. tell as many people as you can that you love them. hug everyone you love and everyone you meet. it heals people. don’t be afraid. nothing to fear but fear itself. don’t speak your fears out loud. we are all going to die. so, live unafraid. no one can hurt you. you have love on your side. spread around the good stuff. live what you believe. i do my best to live what i believe and show as much love as i can. it’s hard! but i can’t complain about a thing if i’m going to contribute to all the crap and complaining doesn’t do anything but cause a little karma. it’s not about revenge, new laws, getting tough on crime, or what anyone else does. it’s about the face looking back in the mirror. hatred is a poison and it kills everyone it touches. hatred and anger is a poison one swallows while waiting for everyone else to die. hugging someone who is angry is sometimes all it takes. angry people are hurting. there is so much pain in this world and we spread it around with our attitudes. angela said it best when she said hate is a burden…we all have it and we all have to look in the mirror and start with our own bad habits and burdens. turn burdens into blessings and send someone love.

God is love. we are made in his image. we are to think on those things that are pure and of God. if it isn’t of God or love than what is it? it’s indifference and lacking all empathy. the definition of a sociopath and where our society is headed. read the The Apocrypha if you haven’t already. it completes the Canon. man has tried to dismantle Gods word but it still exists. there is only one complete scroll containing every book of the old and new testament and it’s in a church in Ethiopia. i’ve read much of it and you’ll see why the catholic church decided to leave those books out. the book of jubilee is a perfect example of what you referred to.

Around where I lived a high schooler was chased to a bridge and he was so scared that he jumped off the bridge to escape and forgot that he couldn’t swim. He drowned and the people who got him killed were not blamed. They were chasing the kid because he was gay and he was crushing on one of the guys friends who helped get him killed. People are so awful! ;/

Homosexuality is mentioned only six times in the entire Bible. Yet infidelity is brought up over 600 times! Not to mention all of the other “sins” that are listed.

I am a Christian, and very strong in my faith. I also happen to be gay. It has taken a lot of years to understand, that God doesn’t hate anybody. Nowhere in the Bible will you find God directly hating any person. He hates the “sins” that are being committed. As far as sin is concerned, that’s where the doctrines begin to split the churches. You will find the hate created at the church level. It is because of the homophobic men of the church — who twist the bible for their own purpose– that we see these crimes being fueled.

The Bible tells us that God says to “come as you are”. That’s rather clear to me since, I am, as I was born. I firmly believe that after 40 years of studying the Word of God, many things that were written in the Bible, have to be taken for the era in which they were written. There was no medical or scientific knowledge in those days. We know today that there is a medical backing as to why people are gay. There was a study done on the brain of Gay men compared with straight men. in 100% of the gay men, they had they hypothalamus of a female. This is the area of the brain that gives us our sexual thoughts, feelings and drives. When the Bible says that “a man should not lay with another man, as a woman”, we have to consider that they didn’t know that some men would be born with the thoughts, feelings, and sexual drive of a woman.

In the end, I do believe that having infidelity, multiple partners, casual sex, etc., is sinful- straight, or gay. I do not believe that gay partners who commit to one another, whether there they are allowed the governments paper document or not, are considered married. The Bible indicates that two were married once they “knew” one another. To “know” someone, would mean to have been intimate.

On the subject of those who commit the horrific crimes against people who are gay, you have a lot more to fear from the wrath of god, than any one else. Crimes committed in the mindset of hate are the sickest, and wickedest crimes that exist- don’t think that you won’t suffer the consequences- God will see you on judgement day.
